Our Early Years' classes at Rosh Pinah School comprises of a 60 place Nursery and two Reception classes of 30 children in each. We are currently in the middle of a major building program which will see our nursery operating from a brand new state of the art building as of September 2014.
Ofsted/Pikuach Inspections (December 2009) judged our Foundation Stage to be 'Outstanding' in all areas.
Our children learn in a secure, happy and supportive environment which enables them to learn and grow as individuals. Their progress and welfare is central to our aims, and in partnership with our parents we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to a broad high quality Early Years Curriculum. One which considers the child's individual needs, achievements and range of learning experience in order that each child has the best possible start in life.
'Adults constantly interact with the children and ask questions that expand the children's knowledge and vocabularies very well.' (Ofsted December 2009)
We pride ourselves on providing a Curriculum that underpins all future learning by fostering and promoting your child's development in seven 'Areas of Learning' of learning and development - three prime areas and four specific areas - in which Jewish Studies and Ivrit are fully integrated.
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development;
• Communication and Language
• Physical development.
• Understanding the World
• Expressive Arts and Design.
Children are given opportunities to work in all areas of learning as we aim to develop the whole child.
In our stimulating, well resourced environment, planning is organised to include a good balance of child initiated and adult led activities that foster active learning and aim to develop children's knowledge, skills and understanding. This includes well planned indoor and outdoor activities that mirror each other so children extend their learning on smaller and larger scales.
'Tasks are highly challenging and stimulating, creating a real buzz of learning in lessons and expanding the children's imaginations.'(Ofsted December 2009)
Chagim (Jewish Festivals) and themes are integrated into the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum thus combining a Kodesh (Jewish Studies) Curriculum that fosters a love for our Jewish Heritage through its traditions, mitzvot and customs.
