The school achieved voluntary-aided status in 1968 during the headship of Mr Chaim Beckman and, under the guidance of Mr Beckman's successor, Mr Mervyn Leviton, the rapidly expanding school moved to its present location in Glengall Road in 1986 and became a two-form entry school. Mr Leviton retired in 1998 and the school continued to thrive under the leadership of Mrs Helen Wiseman.
Mrs Anthea Abery became Head in January 2003 and took the school to even greater heights until her retirement in December 2009 at which time almost every area of the school was judged by inspectors to be good or outstanding with the Early Years Unit being judged outstanding in all areas.
A new and exciting chapter began with the appointment of Mr Anthony Wolfson as Head Teacher in September 2010. Mr Wolfson was previously the Head Teacher of Torah Temimah Primary School - one of the top performing Primary schools in the London Borough of Brent for eight years and Deputy Head of Hasmonean Primary School in Hendon for five years. Prior to this he was a Senior Teacher at Hillel Primary School in Southgate, Head of Year at Sinai School in Kenton and a teacher at North West London Jewish Day School in Willesden.
The school continues to be amongst the most successful schools in Barnet and we are proud of our roots as a flagship Orthodox Zionist Jewish Day School.
Rosh Pinah is a Scopus Jewish Day School. The religious character of the School is that of Modern Orthodox Judaism.
Our children come from a wide range of religious and socio-economic backgrounds. We are an inclusive school, catering to the needs of all pupils. Our Jewish Education underpins all that is taught at Rosh Pinah.
Rosh Pinah means 'corner stone' and Jewish knowledge, Torah study and good middot comprise our foundation stone. We imbue our pupils with a love of Jewish life, study skills which enhance all their learning, respect for others and a love of Israel.
