Information Evenings for Parents

Jewish Studies Information Evening

Our first whole school Jewish Studies Information Evening for parents was held on Tuesday 5th October in the main school hall.

Following a welcome from Mr Wolfson and Mr Kett parents participated in interactive workshops in classrooms and resource areas around the school showcasing the work the children do with the Jewish Studies and Ivrit teachers on a daily basis.

Workshops included:

"Meet Bentzi" with Mrs Anderson
"From Aleph to Tav - and everything in between" with Mrs Radomsky
"Ivrit Bitesize: Do you have a taste for Ivrit?" with Mr Abu
"Baking Bites - Gourmet Challah" with Mrs Bloch
"Lech Lecha - Go for yourself!" with Mr Restan
"All Salute for General Knowledge and Private Reading" with Mrs Mills

After the workshops parents returned to the Hall for an introduction by Rabbi Herman of SEED to the Parent Education Partnership (PEP), followed by a Question and Answer session related to the Jewish life of the School.

We were pleased to welcome parents to what we hope will now become a regular fixture in the school calendar.

Quotes from what parents said on the evening:

“I had no idea that learning could be so much fun”

“This session was brilliant; I want to come back to school!”

“Jewish Studies is moving in the right direction”

“When my wife told me I was coming, I thought I had drawn the short straw.  I didn’t, she did.  This was an incredible evening.”
