British Values

British Values are integral to all learning that takes place at Rosh Pinah.  Our School’s ethos stresses the importance of having a strong Jewish Education and identity firmly established within modern Britain.

We aim to prepare the children to be thoughtful, tolerant, responsible and caring citizens of Great Britain who will go forward to take on leadership roles. Throughout daily school life we expect pupils to act in accordance with values that guide relationships and behaviour fundamental to British Values.

The fundamental British Values as defined by the Department for Education are:

Democracy

Rule of Law

Individual Liberty

Mutual Respect

Tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.

At Rosh Pinah, each of these values is explicitly taught through PSHE and all other curriculum areas. We teach our children to value, respect and understand different cultures and religions that make up Britain today. We promote British Values by ensuring that our curriculum planning and delivery includes genuine opportunities to explore these values.

We invite guest speakers to our School as well as celebrating other cultures through an exciting cross curricular approach to our delivered Curriculum. Special themed lunches are enjoyed at key points in the year and we also engage in interfaith activities with other local schools, one example being a special event at Arsenal Football Club, where children from different faiths came together to share their experiences followed by playing football together which was an enormous success.

Our wider Curriculum is further enhanced by school trips specially selected to link in with our programmes of study.  In addition, we organise a wide variety of in-house sessions facilitated by a host of external providers brought in to share their expertise with our pupils.  We also commemorate National events such as Poppy Day and Marie Curie Day annually.
