At Rosh Pinah Primary School we recognise the important role that PE and Sport has to play in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.  We also believe that Sport has a significant and beneficial impact on our children’s mental health and wellbeing.  PE is taught here by a specialist Sports Coach who plans exciting and innovative sports based activities which are linked to the PE National Curriculum, covering different skills and techniques across the whole school.  In Key Stage 1, children learn Games, Ball Skills, Gymnastics and Dance and in Key Stage 2, the focus is on Games, Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming, Athletics and Outdoor Activities.

Our pupils compete in various Sporting Competitions and Friendly Matches throughout the year. These are organised by Maccabbi and the Barnet School Sports Partnership.   There are also many opportunities to play against other Local Schools.  Our Infants and Juniors enjoy competing in a range of events such as Football, Netball, Swimming, Multi Skills and Athletics Tournaments.  A particular highlight for children, staff and parents alike is the Infant and Junior Sports Day Event which takes place in the Summer Term.  Children compete in their School House (Rashi, Shammai, Akiva and Hillel) and house points won on Sports Day together with house points gained from other events and activities go towards winning the Annual School Cup.
